Summary
1-Acetyl-N,N-diethyllysergamide (also known as ALD-52, 1-Acetyl-LSD, 1A-LSD, 1A-LAD, and mistakenly as Orange Sunshine) is a lesser-known psychedelic substance of the lysergamide class that produces LSD-like psychedelic effects when administered. It's structurally related to psychedelic lysergamides like LSD and 1P-LSD and is reported to produce largely indistinguishable effects. ALD-52 was originally discovered by Albert Hofmann in his study of LSD analogs, but it did not enter mainstream awareness until the 1960s through Western youth counterculture.
Perspectives
“As expected this is somewhat similar to LSD with respect to the headspace. It diverges in terms of having a heavier bodyload, less visuals, and a sort of darker more neutral headspace, lacking the giddiness that LSD can sometimes impart.”

Effects
Aggregated from 13 single-substance Erowid and 5 Bluelight experience reports; 18 Erowid reports where another drug was taken too are left out
Each bar shows the share of analyzed reports whose text mentions that effect — a mention is not always a first-hand experience (fear of an effect or something witnessed can count). Mentions saying the effect did not happen are left out; that check reads keywords, so it can miss some. The shaded band on a bar, and the small range after its number, is the 95% interval: where the share could plausibly be with other reports of the same kind. Fewer reports, wider band. Tap or hover any number for details. The second value is the Bluelight extractor's per-effect confidence; a dash means the row is Erowid-derived, which has no confidence measurement.
Too few reports for bars: these effects come from 13 single-substance Erowid and 5 Bluelight reports, and a bar is drawn only from 20 reports or more. With fewer, a percentage cannot tell a common effect from a rare one. Counts are shown instead. Why 20?

Also reported in combinations. In the 18 ALD-52 reports where another drug was taken too, 4 mention hospital, emergency services or an overdose, 0 a seizure and 1 psychosis (too few reports for percentages). In the 13 single-substance reports: 4, 0 and 1. These are not in the figures above: they cannot be put down to ALD-52 alone, and a mention is not always something that happened to the writer.

[Erowid Note: The term "acid" has been used as a common name for d-LSD since the 1960s. Although confusion associated with newer psychoactive substances has lead some people to use the term "acid" to refer to anything LSD-like or anything psychedelic on blotter or sold in drops, we believe this represents an error and...
On a gray, overcast day in late summer I decided to test out a recently acquired batch of ALD-52. My experience with psychedelics up until that point had been fairly limited, mostly confined to various haphazard experiments in my teens (also including ketamine and other dissociatives).

An Excellent Experience 10, 28, 2016 - 620pm, dropped appx 1/2 tab 100mcg ALD-52. It's not bitter, which is a good sign. I'm taking such a low dose to just get a feel for it. Its supposed to be a 12hr experience plus afterglow.
SET & SETTING: I've been looking forward and preparing myself for this trip for almost two weeks. I'm feeling really excited and a bit anxious. I'm not going into the experience with a recreational intent, but with the intention of exploring my psyche.
A legitimate online vendor recently started stocking ALD-52 blotter tabs, apparently making it readily available for the first time in forty or so years. Not one to pass up an opportunity, I immediately ordered five tabs of 100ug each. The night I took them ended with blacking out and hospitalization.
Psychonaut for over 20 years: countless lsd experiences on heroic doses, many psilocybin adventures, 1p lsd (was on wellbutrin at the time and that had an extremely disappointing effect), salvia, 2cb, doc, nbomes (regret ever trying), dxm, cocaine, heroin, MDMA, ketamine, meth, etc.

My girlfriend has always been curious about tripping. She's taken mushrooms a few times, once with me over a year prior to this experience, but she's never broken through a threshold sort of effect.
By far the worst night of my life. I didnβt follow the rules about inexperienced use while alone and I got punished with 10 straight hours of constant suffering mentally and physically.
I've been paralyzed for one year now and every time I trip I have intense muscle spasms. I have them regularly because my injury is fresh but they're spontaneous. When I'm tripping they're consistent. Think about when your leg is tapping for so long it becomes involuntary.

The PsychonautWiki Journal app includes ALD-52, but its built-in data can be thinner than ours. Importing this file adds a separate "ALD-52 (Substance Search)" custom substance with our dose ranges, durations and tolerance, so you can log against whichever you prefer.
