    Disclaimer
☠ Xylazine ('tranq') is an animal sedative, not an opioid, so naloxone does not reverse it. It is mostly found mixed into fentanyl and heroin. If someone is unresponsive, give naloxone anyway, give rescue breaths, call emergency services and stay with them: they can stay sedated after their breathing comes back. Xylazine also causes severe wounds that need medical care.

    Summary PsychonautWiki

Xylazine (also known as xyl, xyla, or tranq) is a central nervous system (CNS) depressant substance of the imidazoline class. It is primarily used as an anaesthetic in combination with ketamine or as an emetic (to induce vomiting) in veterinary medicine. Xylazine is often used as a cutting agent for other sedative street drugs, such as ketamine, fentanyl, and others, leading to many medical complications and deaths for drug users. It is not an opioid, so naloxone does not reverse it, though naloxone should still be given when an opioid may be involved.

    Tolerance

Build-up varies by mechanism; therapeutic tolerance may develop over weeks of regular use
Reset Falls after you stop, at a rate that varies from person to person. If you've been using regularly, cut down gradually with medical help rather than stopping suddenly.

No tolerance chart. Our decay curves for these drugs were estimates, and a curve can make tolerance look longer-lasting than it is, which is the dangerous direction.

How fast tolerance to these drugs fades after a break has not been measured well enough to draw, so don't count on a dose you used to take still being safe: after time off, start with a much smaller amount and don't use alone. Mixing sedatives with each other, with alcohol or with opioids sharply raises the risk of a fatal overdose. If you've been using regularly, don't stop suddenly: withdrawal from benzodiazepines, alcohol or GHB/GBL can cause seizures or delirium, so get medical help to cut down gradually.

Sedatives Are Just That... neutral exp #24942

Being an insomniac, I took up the chance to experiment with tranquilizers when my dealer gave me the remnants of a bottle of xylazine he had procured on a previous pharm run from Mexico. On the day of the experiment I had smoked some cannabis hours earlier but no real effects remained with me.

I work at a vet clinic and value my future but also am on the look out for free highs that I think carry no risk for me. I only take what will never be noticed and only then when the opportunity arises. I took 10 10mg valium and some phenobarbs (which I didn't know sucked) previously and that was a few months ago.
