Adrafinil (also known as Olmifon) is a prodrug for modafinil - a wakefulness-promoting agent (eugeroic) with nootropic effects. Adrafinil is metabolized in the liver to produce modafinil. Both are stimulants with no amphetamine-like effects.

Nootropic journal entry Title: Experienced opposite effects First time taking Adrafinil. Precursor notes: Don't let the timestamps fool you. My schedule has always been out of wack. Sleeping has never been correct in my life. Probably due to my job or other reasons.
I Live in a place up north, our winters are fun. Almost every drugΒs effects are intensified in the winter. Adrafinil, is one of them. Sometimes in the summer with the heat here it has little effect. This trip report comes from a time before xmas 2001. ItΒs not one specific trip, like paintings, all are different.
I've always had trouble with sleepiness and poor concentration. It often seemed to take me an ungodly amount of effort to get myself into the mental state necessary to get schoolwork done, and if I got anything less than 8 full hours of sleep I was completely useless the following day.
Okay Adrafinil arrives in the mail today, finally, as the French drug Olmifon. The package insert is all in French, okay I laugh at it since I can't understand French.
I first started using a variety of cognition-enhancing substances (nootropics) when I had a lot of work/study-related pressures and felt it difficult to cope with these pressures.
Adrafinil requires a slightly higher dose than Modafinil, but the effects are essentially the same. The difference is that Adrafinil does not require a prescription in the US as of 2007 and is therefore much easier to obtain. Brief personal history: I am thirty-one years old.
I recently decided to import adrafinil into Canada after reading many articles online about its kin modafinil, which is sadly controlled here. I had mostly read about this class of drugs being used to enhance academic performance (studying, speaking, writing, et cetera).
